Low Level Laser or Light Therapy has many uses depending on the type of light used, the wavelength and the delivery method. In the case of animals, light therapy is most commonly used to help accelerate wound and muscle healing, and assist with the management of pain.

Red light is visible and is most effective for use on the surface of the skin up to around 2cm penetration, commonly used for cuts, open wounds and post surgery.  It occupies the long end of the visible spectrum with wavelengths of 630nm-700nm. Infrared light is invisible and is effective with a penetration of around 2-4cms into the body, and sits on the spectrum at 800nm-1mm.
